Dance Upon Air

Once upon a time, we danced upon air
Everyday one wobbly step at a time, as we slowly learned to walk on our own
Every dream we formed constructed the shell of our soul, and
all the lyrics written composed the song of our hearts, drawing out the rhythm of truth

Our growth never ended
And we continued to dance upon air
Our soul was our lifeline to the great unknown
And our mind the only limit to the universal questions of the persons we quickly became

We were not built of the right turns we made
Rather the mistakes we stumbled upon
That created the strength to push us forward
And forced us to carry on

Now here we stand resting
Halfway to the finish line
We wonder what’s supposed to come next

But deep inside we know the answer
As to where it is we go from here

As we simply continue to dance upon air
